Samphire Neuroscience is a medical technology company developing a neurotechnology wearable designed to manage menstrual pain and premenstrual syndrome.

Samphire Neuroscience has raised $2.3m in pre-seed funding to commercialise its neurotechnology wearable, Nettle, aimed at providing a drug-free remedy for menstrual pain and premenstrual syndrome. The investment round attracted backing from SOSV, FIRSTPICK, Afterwork, Seaside, Ayuh, CVX Ventures, Dr Pamela Walker, and Rowena Ironside.

The capital will be directed towards advancing clinical research and securing regulatory approval for the medical-grade headband. Nettle applies transcranial direct current stimulation to the prefrontal and motor cortices to manage both the emotional and physical symptoms associated with the menstrual cycle.

Co-founded by Emilė Radytė and Alex Cook, the London-based enterprise seeks to address long-standing gaps in female healthcare by targeting the brain as the central node of wellbeing.
