Salty Film has secured nearly £2.3m through SyndicateRoom as part of a wider £10m funding effort. The capital will be allocated towards the production of the upcoming action comedy film Salty.
The company listed on the platform in July 2014, attracting approximately £450k from angel investors alongside shares sold to retail participants with a minimum investment threshold of £1k. Director Simon West is the first A-list Hollywood filmmaker to utilise crowdfunding to finance a movie.
