Sages secures backing from Oxford Innovation Finance to scale sustainable dye production

Oxford Innovation Finance has backed sustainable dye developer Sages through its Angel Investment Network, OION. The funding will enable the company to scale its production capacity, expand its team, and finalise critical preparations for commercial deployment.
Sages produces high-performance, biodegradable dyes derived from inedible food waste, offering an alternative to petroleum-derived synthetic dyes. The technology delivers comparable performance to conventional products while cutting production carbon emissions by up to 90%.
The investment comes as regulatory pressures and consumer demand accelerate the shift toward sustainable manufacturing practices across the textile industry and wider industrial sectors.
