Rooted MilQ develops plant-based milk alternatives using quinoa and tarwi. The company works with smallholder farmers in Peru to protect agrobiodiversity.
Rooted MilQ has secured investment from a member of Henley Business Angels to support its UK launch. Formerly known as Kai Pacha Foods, the company produces plant-based milk using quinoa and tarwi sourced from smallholder farmers in Peru. The funding will assist the business as it introduces its sustainable dairy alternatives to the British market.
The company has previously received recognition, winning the University of Reading Just Imagine If competition in 2019. It also benefits from the guidance of experienced entrepreneurs, including Paul Lindley, the founder of Ella's Kitchen.
