Rockley Photonics secures £38.7m in growth private equity led by SIG-i Capital
The Oxford-based integrated optics provider secured the growth private equity investment led by SIG-i Capital to support its expansion into healthcare markets.
Rockley Photonics develops integrated silicon photonic solutions, supplying high-volume sensor and communication products. Formed in 2013, the company is led by Dr Andrew Rickman.
Rockley Photonics has secured £38.7m in a growth private equity investment led by SIG-i Capital. The funding supports the company as it targets the healthcare market with optical sensing technology.
The firm also announced the appointment of Vafa Jamali as chief commercial officer to drive business growth and commercial strategy. Jamali brings over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry, having previously worked at Medtronic.
Rockley has developed an innovative photonics platform designed for high-volume manufacture of integrated optical and electronic devices. The technology enables multiple healthcare and wellness applications, including personalized monitoring of biophysical and biochemical biomarkers in wearable devices.
