Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour secures £292k from the Development Bank of Wales to expand production and retail sites.
The funding from the Development Bank of Wales will support new retail outlets and a manufacturing hub in North Wales.
Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour is an artisan gelato maker based in North Wales, offering a range of distinctive flavours from its parlours.
Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour has secured a £292k loan from the Development Bank of Wales to fund its regional expansion. The capital will enable the business to establish a new production hub in Llangefni alongside new retail outlets in Plas Newydd and Llangefni.
Founded a decade ago, the Anglesey-based gelato maker plans to scale its operations to meet growing demand while continuing to source ingredients locally. The investment supports the company as it targets broader distribution channels, including major supermarkets and regional restaurants.
From the founder
"I started the business in 2009 after studying in Bologna and was amazed by the passion and creativity of the gelato chefs. It’s amazing what you can do with a great imagination and an appreciative audience. Our main ice-cream production is carried out at the main trading premise in Beaumaris but as our loyal army of followers has grown and grown, we recognised the need to expand with more retail outlets and a larger production hub."
