London-based sports platform RacketPal has secured £150k in a pre-seed funding round from private investor David Kasper. The capital will be directed towards expanding the team and accelerating product development to serve a broader audience of racket sports players.
The company provides an application for iOS and Android that helps players find local opponents of a similar skill level. Since its inception, the service has facilitated connections for over 10,000 users in London and plans to scale its community globally.
From the founder
"We are extremely excited to partner with David and start our journey towards becoming the world’s largest online sporting community for amateurs. There are over 1 billion people in the world who find it very difficult to meet partners near them, at a similar standard and available to play. This is exactly why we’re here and we’re determined to help them all."
