Quell Therapeutics has secured £35m in a Series A financing round led by Syncona, with participation from the UCL Technology Fund contributing £1m. The capital will support the company as it develops engineered T regulatory cell therapies designed to address organ transplant rejection as well as autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
The firm combines academic expertise from King's College London, University College London, and Hannover Medical School under the leadership of Iain McGill. Professors Hans Stauss and Emma Morris are among the key figures contributing their knowledge of T cell engineering to the project.
