Quantum Dice has secured a €2m grant from the European Innovation Council Accelerator programme. The fresh capital will support the company in commercialising its platform and developing scalable hardware for probabilistic artificial intelligence and industrial optimisation.
The Oxford spinout, established in 2020, builds processors that leverage quantum principles to handle probabilistic computing. Its technology operates at room temperature and integrates with existing semiconductor infrastructure, offering an alternative to fully quantum systems that require cryogenic cooling.
The funding follows years of academic research originating from the University of Oxford quantum optics laboratory. The company intends to deploy the proceeds to advance its processing unit architecture and build a user community around its technology.

"Our team is diverse across gender, nationality, and academic background. Women make up one-third of the company, including two of the five founding members. We represent at least eight nationalities and speak more than ten languages. Nearly half of our team (48%) self-identifies as ethnicities other than White. Two-thirds of the team are focused on engineering, with deep expertise reflected in seven PhDs and 11 additional members holding Master’s degrees across the wider business."
