PureLiFi secures £14m Series B funding led by Temasek and Scottish Investment Bank to scale component production
The Series B round was led by Temasek and the Scottish Investment Bank to fund the development of mobile-ready LiFi components.
PureLiFi develops light fidelity technology that enables wireless data transmission through illumination instead of radio frequencies. The firm provides specialised components designed for integration into mass-market mobile devices and lighting systems.
Edinburgh-based wireless technology developer pureLiFi has secured £14m in a Series B funding round. The investment was led by Singaporean investment firm Temasek alongside the Scottish Investment Bank.
The capital will be directed towards advancing gigabit LiFi components and preparing form factors suitable for mobile device integration. This follows the company's strategic shift toward component supply for manufacturers of laptops, tablets, and rugged devices.
LiFi technology utilises light spectrum rather than radio frequencies to deliver high-speed wireless connectivity. The fresh financing positions the firm to scale its operations as industry standardisation progresses toward ratification.
From the founder
