Primer provides a unified infrastructure layer for global enterprise payments, helping merchants manage transactions across multiple processors and tools.

London-based payments infrastructure firm Primer has secured $100m in an oversubscribed Series C funding round led by Sofina. The transaction brings the total capital raised by the company to $170m. Peak XV Partners joined the round alongside returning investors Balderton, Accel, ICONIQ, Tencent, and Speedinvest.

The fresh capital will be deployed to drive growth in the US market, where the company aims to increase revenue share significantly by 2028, and to expand its AI agent Primer Companion. Founded in 2020, Primer provides an orchestration layer that sits above traditional processors to help large merchants manage transaction flows and data.
