Power Roll develops lightweight flexible film technologies designed for low-cost renewable energy generation and storage applications.

Power Roll has secured £6m in a growth funding round led by GWC, building on a previous £5.7m raise in 2020 at a significantly higher valuation. The capital was provided through equity and a convertible loan note.

The company has created a flexible, lightweight solar film technology that offers a much cheaper alternative to traditional photovoltaic panels. Its microgroove design can also be adapted for energy storage and capacitor manufacturing, opening up potential uses across non-load-bearing rooftops, transport, and off-grid projects.

GWC increased its backing for the business, citing confidence in the firm's clean energy applications. Power Roll intends to use the capital to support its ongoing development and market engagement alongside its investor network.
