Plum Fintech secures £8.6m from Eurobank to expand digital savings and investments in Greece
Eurobank has taken a minority equity stake in the smart money app as part of a strategic regional partnership.
Plum Fintech operates a smart money application designed to automate personal finance tasks, including saving, spending management, and investing. The firm has expanded its presence to ten European markets alongside its established UK base.
Plum Fintech has secured £8.6m in equity backing from Eurobank as part of a strategic partnership to expand digital savings and investment services in Greece and surrounding markets. The funding represents the first tranche of an ongoing capital raise, with a further €15m expected to close in the first quarter of 2024 alongside additional institutional participants.
The capital injection will support the company as it accelerates development across south-eastern Europe, targeting an active user base of 700k in Greece by the end of 2027. Management notes that the combined financial backing and strategic alliance should guide the business toward profitability by early 2025.
From the founder
"This is a huge milestone for Plum, giving us the opportunity to turbocharge our growth in the EU following our success in the UK. The digital trends are promising and there is a clear gap for an app like Plum to help Greek consumers with their money management."
