The pre-series A funding round was led by SBI Investment and will support expansion into Japan.
PixelPin develops image-based authentication technology that replaces traditional passwords and PINs with pictures. Its cloud platform is designed to secure online accounts for sectors such as banking and retail.
PixelPin has secured £1.5m in a pre-series A funding round led by SBI Investment, with additional backing from existing angel investors. The fresh capital will support continued product development, target new customers in finance and retail, and fund the establishment of a Tokyo office to drive expansion into Japan and broader Asian markets.
The company offers a cloud-based authentication platform hosted on Microsoft Azure, allowing users to log into accounts by selecting four specific points on an image. The latest injection of capital follows previous funding that has facilitated international partnerships across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
