Former frontline paramedics Andrea and Gethin Bateman have secured a £300k loan from the Development Bank of Wales to acquire the Pelcomb Bridge Holiday Park and the Rising Sun Restaurant and Grill in Haverfordwest. The funding supports the purchase of the three-acre site and enables immediate refurbishment work, kitchen upgrades, and environmental improvements including solar panels and a new sewage system.
The capital facilitates the revitalisation of the local business, which retains existing staff alongside four newly created roles, including a head chef. The acquisition marks a career transition for the couple into hospitality and leisure operations.
