PBD Biotech has secured funding from New Anglia Capital to support its international expansion efforts. The Suffolk-based firm was established to commercialise the Actiphage test, which detects tuberculosis. The diagnostic technology was originally created for humans and subsequently adapted by researchers at the University of Nottingham.
The capital will assist the company as it scales its operations beyond its home market. PBD Biotech builds upon diagnostic techniques developed by Dr Cath Rees and Dr Ben Swift.
