Oxford Quantum Circuits has secured £78.8m in Series B funding led by SBI Investment, marking the largest Series B round in the UK quantum computing sector to date. The capital will support advanced research and development alongside the international rollout of next-generation quantum platforms featuring hundreds of qubits.
The financing coincides with the public availability of OQC Toshiko, the firm's flagship enterprise-ready quantum computing platform. The raise also incorporates participation from both new backers and existing investors including Oxford Science Enterprises, University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners, Lansdowne Partners, and Oxford Investment Consultants.
The transaction reinforces the position of the UK as a prominent international hub for quantum technology development. Oxford Quantum Circuits intends to utilise the backing to extend its operational footprint and bring secure quantum computing capabilities closer to commercial organisations worldwide.
