£38.0MSeries A

Oxford Quantum Circuits develops quantum computing platforms and provides compute-as-a-service to global businesses. The company delivers enterprise-ready quantum technology designed to solve complex scientific and commercial challenges.

Oxford Quantum Circuits has raised £38m in the first close of its Series A round to accelerate research and development and expand its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region. The financing was co-led by Lansdowne Partners and The University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners, with additional participation from British Patient Capital, Oxford Science Enterprises, and Oxford Investment Consultants.

The capital injection follows the recent deployment of the company system, Lucy, on Amazon Braket. The firm intends to use the proceeds to scale its quantum infrastructure and enhance its private quantum computing as-a-service offerings, particularly targeting markets in Japan.

From the founder

"This initial close is the UK’s largest ever Series A in quantum computing, demonstrating the confidence our investors have in our ability to lead the global quantum industry. It’s testament to the significant technological and commercial progress we have achieved in recent months, thanks to our world-class team. It is also the first step in our international expansion, bringing quantum to our customers’ fingertips – wherever they are in the world."
