Oxford Medical Simulation develops virtual reality platforms for clinical education and training. The company provides immersive scenarios designed to improve healthcare preparedness and patient safety.
Oxford Medical Simulation has secured £10m in a Series A funding round led by Frog Capital, with participation from ACF Investors, existing shareholders, and strategic partners. The company intends to direct the capital toward scaling its offerings across learner groups, integrating artificial intelligence into its solutions, and advancing research and development efforts.
Founded in 2017, the firm offers a virtual reality platform featuring over 240 simulations designed to help nurses, doctors, and allied healthcare professionals practise clinical procedures without risk. The technology aims to address a significant preparedness gap among graduating medical personnel while reducing traditional training costs for health systems and educational institutions.
The latest financing will support the organisation as it expands its client-facing authoring platform, OMS Create, and helps clients build custom content. The funding arrives as the company delivers more than 35,000 simulations per month to institutions worldwide.
From the founder
"It allows us to rapidly scale the team whilst staying true to our vision and values. Frog’s experience in helping scale impact-focused software companies, combined with the significant expertise of our healthcare advisory board, will facilitate this expansion at a critical time for OMS and the healthcare workforce. But these innovations are not just about technology; they’re about people – training healthcare professionals more effectively to improve patient care, and this funding isn’t just an investment in Oxford Medical Simulation; it’s an investment in every healthcare professional we train. Our journey so far has been incredible, and it’s only just beginning."
