OXCCU has raised £20.8m in a Series B funding round to scale its sustainable aviation fuel technology. The round attracted new investors including Orlen, Safran Corporate Ventures, International Airlines Group, Hostplus, and TCVC, alongside continued participation from existing backers such as Clean Energy Ventures, IP Group, Kiko Ventures, Aramco Ventures, Eni Next, Braavos Capital, and the University of Oxford.
The capital will be deployed to accelerate commercialisation, expand operations, and scale up the company technology. This follows the 2024 launch of the OX1 demonstration plant at London Oxford Airport, with a second facility, OX2, scheduled to begin operations by 2026.
The firm has developed a single-step catalytic process that transforms waste gases into jet fuel range hydrocarbons. By removing the need for costly intermediate steps, the technology aims to lower the production costs associated with sustainable aviation fuel.
