Otherworld secures £2.9m in Series A funding led by Edge Investments
The capital will back domestic and international venue expansion alongside the launch of an upgraded virtual reality platform.
Otherworld operates immersive virtual reality venues featuring multi-sensory immersion pods and proprietary content. The company runs locations combining heat, wind and rumble effects to deliver out-of-home entertainment.
Otherworld has secured £2.9m in Series A funding to support its expansion across the UK and internationally. The investment round was led by Edge Investments, with participation from Imbiba, Chris Lee and Rupert Loman.
The capital will enable the virtual reality operator to open new sites in London Victoria and Birmingham, alongside planned launches in Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow. The company is also seeking franchise partners in Germany and the US.
Alongside physical growth, the funding will finance the development of Otherworld 2.0. This upcoming iteration introduces scanned avatars and atmospheric themed zones to enhance visitor immersion.
