Olix is an artificial intelligence chip startup building specialised hardware to compete with Nvidia in data centres. The company employs over 140 people across multiple international offices.

Olix has secured $312m in fresh capital, pushing its valuation to $3.3bn. The investment was led by New York firm Fundomo, with participation from Arm, Hudson River Trading, and Reed Hastings, alongside existing backers.

The company is developing the X-1 platform, which uses specialised chips and optical interconnects to handle artificial intelligence inference workloads. The capital will support the commercial launch of the DX-1 chip and expand manufacturing capacity.

Alongside the funding, Olix has appointed networking expert Nick McKeown to its board and brought in former Wise executive Matt Briers as chief financial officer.
