OKKO Health has secured £2m in a pre seed financing round led by Dieter von Holtzbrinck Ventures. The capital will be deployed to facilitate the company entry into the German healthcare market, supporting the launch of its remote eye monitoring application and gathering necessary market evidence for national reimbursement.
Founded in 2018, the Bristol headquartered company has created an interactive smartphone game that allows patients to track changes in visual acuity at home. The technology aims to provide early warning signals for clinical intervention in conditions like macular degeneration, shifting towards precision ophthalmology.
