Nuclera

The financing extension brings Nuclera's total Series C funding to $87m and will advance antibody engineering capabilities.

£8.9MSeries C

Nuclera is a biotechnology company that accelerates drug discovery through its benchtop eProtein Discovery system. The firm provides rapid, easy access to functional proteins to streamline laboratory workflows.

Nuclera has secured an £8.9m financing extension to its Series C round, bringing its total raise in that category to $87m. The capital injection was led by Elevage Medical Technologies and Jonathan Milner, with participation from existing backers British Business Bank and GK Goh. The company plans to use the fresh funds to accelerate the development of its eProtein Discovery platform for full-format antibody expression and binding validation.

The latest backing will support Nuclera as it moves into AI-enabled protein engineering, aiming to meet industry demand for standardised datasets in biologics discovery. The company has recently expanded its global footprint and introduced membrane protein workflows to its benchtop system.

Investor perspective

"Since our initial investment, Nuclera has made meaningful progress in expanding the capabilities, adoption, and global reach of the eProtein Discovery platform. The extension of the system into full-format antibody expression, purification, and binding validation represents a significant step forward, particularly as biologics discovery becomes increasingly driven by AI-enabled workflows that require scalable, high-quality datasets. Elevage is proud to continue supporting Nuclera as it evolves into a foundational platform for protein and antibody engineering, helping researchers accelerate discovery timelines and reduce friction across the drug development process."
