Nuclera secures £31.4m Series B financing led by M&G to scale benchtop bioprinting

The Cambridge biotechnology company has raised £31.4m from investors including M&G and Amadeus Capital Partners to advance its desktop protein printer.

Nuclera is a biotechnology company based in Cambridge that accelerates protein expression workflows. The firm develops desktop bioprinter technology to streamline protein synthesis for researchers.

Biotech firm Nuclera has secured £31.4m in the first close of its Series B financing round. The investment was backed by a syndicate of new and existing institutional partners, led by M&G alongside Amadeus Capital Partners, E Ink, RT Partners, Future Planet Capital, British Business Bank Future Fund, and G. K. Goh.

The proceeds from the raise will be directed towards accelerating the commercialisation and development of the company's eProtein desktop bioprinter. The funding will also support the expansion of the platform towards an all-encompassing proteomics instrument designed to unify protein expression and characterisation.
