Nothing is a consumer technology company based in London that builds connected hardware ecosystems. Its debut product was the carbon-neutral ear (1) wireless earbuds.

Nothing has secured £10.9m in a Series A funding round led by GV, taking its total financing to £16m. The capital will support team expansion, research and development, and the upcoming launch of the company's first smart devices.

The latest investment follows an earlier seed round of £5.1m backed by various technology entrepreneurs. The firm also intends to open a portion of the Series A round to the wider public and its community in the coming weeks.

GV General Partner Tom Hulme cited Carl Pei's sector experience as a key factor in the investment decision. Nothing plans to scale its design capabilities from its London headquarters as it prepares its initial product rollout.
