Nomupay operates a unified payments platform that streamlines acquiring, treasury, and payouts for enterprises operating across fragmented markets.
Nomupay has secured $40m from SoftBank through its SB Payment Service subsidiary to fuel its entry into the Japanese market. The investment values the Dublin-based fintech at $290m and brings its total capital raised to over $130m following consecutive years of strong growth. The company plans to use the proceeds to expand its presence in Japan, pursue strategic acquisitions, and accelerate its broader footprint across Asia. This partnership also enables SoftBank to extend its domestic offerings globally by integrating Nomupay's single API architecture.
From the founder
"Asia is a fragmented and under-penetrated market from a payments perspective. Global gateway providers underserve merchants looking to expand into Asia Pacific. Local acquiring and alternative payment methods often require extensive DIY work. While orchestration platforms have simplified integration, the underlying complexity remains immense."
