Netacea raises £9m in Series A funding from cybersecurity leaders to grow international operations
Mercia Asset Management and cybersecurity leaders backed the round to support expansion in the US and UK.
Netacea provides bot detection and cybersecurity solutions designed to prevent online fraud. The Manchester-based firm helps major brands protect their digital platforms against malicious automated traffic.
Netacea has secured £9m in Series A funding from a group of cybersecurity leaders and existing backers to scale its operations. The capital will be deployed to expand its commercial footprint in the United States and the United Kingdom while also growing its technical and threat research teams. Mercia Asset Management participated alongside prominent industry executives.
From the founder
"We’re delighted to close this new round of funding—the support and business expertise from our investors has been invaluable in taking Netacea from a new product to an established and confident business. We have already won some big U.S. customers, such as Shutterstock, and look forward to continuing our push into the U.S. market."
Jeremy Gidlow
CEO and Co-founder at Netacea
Investor perspective
"A simplistic rules-based approach to bot management won’t cut it anymore. Security suites need to be supported by dedicated bot management solutions that can respond to new threats and take advantage of new threat intelligence. Netacea’s agentless approach is the right one."
