Bolton based EdTech firm Near-Life has secured £241k in grant funding from Innovate UK. The capital will be deployed to accelerate the launch of immersive police training software developed in partnership with Greater Manchester Police.
The project focuses on creating gamified simulation technology for complex investigations, beginning with a pilot course centred on tackling child sexual exploitation. The funding enables the company to bring the product to market by 2021, two years ahead of its original schedule, ahead of international expansion into overseas police forces and other emergency services.
The fresh injection of capital follows a successful fundraise by the company last year.
