Natural Capital Research, operating as Natcap, has secured £7.8m in an oversubscribed Series A funding round to scale its nature intelligence platform. The financing was backed by a range of individual and institutional investors, including André Hoffmann, Norinchukin Capital, Yeo Ventures, and Pelican Ag, alongside further participation from existing backers such as Oxford Science Enterprises and MW&L Capital Partners. The capital will enable the firm to expand its technology offering as global demand rises for corporate environmental reporting tools.
The London-based business translates scientific research into accessible metrics for corporate decision-makers, addressing requirements under regulations like the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. Having previously raised a £2.5m seed round early last year, the company continues to build momentum in a nascent technology market. The latest funds will support further commercial scaling as organisations increasingly seek to incorporate biodiversity considerations into operational planning.
