MPB secures £49.8m Series D funding led by Vitruvian Partners to fuel international growth
The Brighton reseller of photo and video kit has raised £49.8m from Vitruvian Partners and Acton Capital to expand in US and European markets.
MPB is the world platform for buying, selling and trading used photo and video equipment. The business operates on a circular model that recirculates hundreds of thousands of items annually.
Brighton-based used photographic equipment marketplace MPB has secured £49.8m in a Series D funding round led by Vitruvian Partners. The latest capital injection includes participation from returning investor Acton Capital, alongside continued involvement from existing backers Mobeus Equity Partners, Beringea and FJ Labs. The firm will direct the funds towards accelerating its expansion across American and European territories while developing new technological products for creators.
The business has scaled significantly on the back of growing consumer demand for sustainable commerce and the circular economy. Operating internationally from hubs in the UK, US and Germany, MPB inspects and recirculates hundreds of thousands of used cameras and lenses every year. Vitruvian Partners assumes the position of largest shareholder following the transaction, while Mobeus Equity Partners has partially exited its initial holding from the Series A stage.

With the backing of Vitruvian Partners and those reinvesting in our business we can accelerate our US and European growth strategy at scale, profitably. Photography and videography are intrinsic to societies and cultures all over the world, and at MPB we have created a circular model that offers everyone the chance to be visual storytellers and content creators in a way that’s good for the planet."
