The London-based wearable technology startup raised the capital from backers including Chevron Technology Ventures and Vinci.

London-based wearable technology business that builds bone conduction voice communication systems for hazardous and noisy industrial environments.

Mobilus Labs has secured $2.7m in funding from a syndicate including Chevron Technology Ventures, Vinci, Ascension, Schox, Entrepreneur First, and Stanford Angels. The capital will support the international expansion of the Mobilus Voice Communications Platform across the energy, construction, chemicals, and manufacturing sectors in the United States and Europe.

The London-based startup develops ear-free, hands-free bone conduction headsets such as mobiWAN, which integrate into safety helmets to allow clear communication in loud work environments. The technology transmits audio directly to the inner ear via micro-vibrations, bypassing traditional headphones and handheld radios.

Following trials of the technology at Chevron facilities, the business aims to scale its industrial deployment. Mobilus previously raised funding from Vinci in 2020 to develop its second-generation hardware and software platforms.

Investor perspective

"Clear voice communication is particularly valuable in hazardous areas. Our trial of the Mobilus device helped us assess its potential to enhance worker safety, particularly in high-noise industrial environments,"
