MintNeuro is an Imperial College London spinout that builds specialised semiconductor platforms for neural implants and medical wearables.
London-based neurotechnology company MintNeuro has secured $5m in funding to scale its semiconductor platform and expand its presence in the United States. The round was led by Odyssey Ventures, with participation from JSK Investments, 33East, Alumni Ventures, Empirical Ventures and Jumpspace Ventures.
The fresh capital will be directed towards product launches, delivering pre-production chips to development partners, and growing the engineering team. MintNeuro develops purpose-built chips designed to help medical device makers overcome hardware bottlenecks in brain-computer interfaces and neural implants.
Investor perspective
"The main obstacle holding back neurotechnology today is not a lack of ideas, but hardware. MintNeuro is addressing this gap with a platform on which the entire industry can build. We were convinced to invest by its strong technology team, working chips and first long-term commercial contract"
