Mews is an Amsterdam based hospitality cloud platform that provides property management systems and payment tools for hotels.

Mews has secured $110m in a new funding round to support its ongoing international expansion, research efforts, and corporate acquisitions. The capital injection elevates the hospitality technology provider to unicorn status with a valuation of $1.2bn. Backing for the round comes from prominent financial institutions including Kinnevik and Goldman Sachs.

Founded in 2012 by Richard Valtr, the company seeks to replace legacy on-premise hotel systems with a centralised cloud architecture. Mews has previously grown its market presence through organic adoption and the acquisition of eight sector peers, including Frontdesk Anywhere and Hotello.

The newly acquired funds will enable the firm to further develop its feature set and scale its operations globally. Mews continues to target inefficiencies in hotel management by automating administrative workflows and personalising the guest experience.
