Metrikus provides a smart buildings software platform that integrates various sensors to monitor building performance, footfall, energy use and air quality. The company helps owners and occupiers gain single-pane visibility over their real estate assets.

Metrikus has completed a Series A funding round to reach £5m in total investment since its inception. The latest capital injection was backed by institutional investors and private investment vehicles, with RentaMarkets acting as underwriter.

The funds will support team expansion and commercial growth across international markets, including the United States, India, Japan and South Korea, alongside existing European operations. The round also brings strategic introductory business agreements across Europe.

The business has seen increased demand during the pandemic as landlords and tenants seek tools to manage safe returns to workplaces and optimise commercial space utilisation.

From the founder

"Metrikus has been able to double its funding in the past year despite, or perhaps partly because of, the impact that Covid-19 has had on the commercial property sector. In all market conditions, knowledge is power, and our software provides building owners and occupiers with the most powerful platform available for insight and analysis of how their buildings are being used."
