MediSieve has secured seven-figure funding in a round led by 24Haymarket, which contributed £632k. As part of the transaction, Marek Gumienny from the investor has joined the company board as a non-executive director.
The capital will support ongoing research and product development for the company's magnetic blood filtration device, which aims to treat conditions such as malaria, sepsis and leukaemia by filtering targeted components from the bloodstream.
Founder and chief executive George Frodsham noted that the financing provides essential resources for commercialisation. The company intends to use the backing to scale its operations over the coming years.
