Medefer has secured £10m in a Series A funding round led by private investment firm Nickleby Capital. The capital will be deployed to expand its team and technology capabilities to handle new contracts, drive product development, and support business growth.
Created by NHS clinicians, Medefer operates a digital platform that coordinates the entire patient journey from referral to discharge without traditional physical appointments. The service aims to alleviate pressure on healthcare providers by cutting outpatient costs and reducing patient waiting lists.
The fresh funding arrives as the healthcare sector faces mounting patient backlogs due to Covid-19. The company intends to use the backing to scale its operations and assist the health service during a period of sustained operational demand.
