Mayku raises £1.5m to scale its desktop manufacturing platform and user base

The funding follows previous investment from Henley Business Angels members.

£1.5M

Mayku develops desktop manufacturing hardware and software that enables creators and small businesses to produce items locally and quickly.

Mayku has secured £1.5m in funding, building on previous backing from Henley Business Angels members. The company provides desktop manufacturing equipment, such as the FormBox and the Multiplier, allowing creators to bypass traditional production barriers.

The fresh capital will be directed towards accelerating sales and expanding the user base, with a target of reaching over 40k users within five years. Mayku serves a diverse clientele ranging from independent hobbyists to multinational design laboratories.

Chief executive Alex Smilansky noted the wide range of applications for the platform, spanning medical prototyping to artisanal food production.

From the founder

"From medical technicians prototyping hearts so surgeons can practice before surgery to chocolatiers making short runs of chocolates for Nike – we have been blown away by the range of applications we’ve seen for our desktop manufacturing platform so far."
