Marmalade Game Studio secures £22.5m from LDC to expand its game portfolio and team.
LDC has backed the management team with a multi-million-pound private equity injection to support ongoing expansion.
Marmalade Game Studio is a British developer and publisher specialising in digital adaptations of classic board games for mobile, console and PC platforms. The firm works alongside major entertainment brands to deliver family entertainment titles.
Marmalade Game Studio has secured a £22.5m investment from private equity firm LDC to accelerate its growth strategy and expand its product catalogue. The transaction also marks a successful exit for early backer Bloc Ventures, which initially invested in the company in 2016.
The funding will allow the joint CEOs to scale operations, develop new titles for 2022 and beyond, and recruit additional talent across offices in London and Lisbon. LDC representatives Dale Alderson and Jacob Leone will join the board alongside inbound Non-Executive Chairman Andrew Graham.
The business has experienced rapid expansion over recent years, driven by digital adaptations of traditional tabletop titles such as Monopoly and Jumanji. Banking facilities for the transaction were provided by Silicon Valley Bank.
