LUNAC Therapeutics is a drug discovery company developing next generation anticoagulants designed to minimise bleeding risk. The firm emerged as a spin out from the University of Leeds.

LUNAC Therapeutics has secured £2.7m in the first close of its Series A financing round. The investment was led jointly by Epidarex Capital and the University of Leeds.

The capital will support the company as it advances its discovery of novel anticoagulants aimed at reducing bleeding risks by targeting Factor XII. This work builds upon a decade of academic research conducted at the University of Leeds.

Previous academic work underpinning the company has received financial backing from the Wellcome Trust, the British Heart Foundation, and the Medical Research Council.
