Loft Co has secured a £2.9m loan from the Development Bank of Wales to complete the transformation of a Victorian railway building in Barry. The funding will support the final stages of the Goods Shed project, which integrates residential apartments and commercial spaces.
Work on the site has resumed following safety measures introduced during the pandemic. The completed complex aims to generate roughly 150 jobs and will feature a shipping container village alongside local businesses.
The capital is sourced from the Wales Stalled Sites Fund, which provides financial backing for residential developments that struggle to secure traditional financing. The project forms part of the wider Innovation Quarter at Barry Waterfront.
