The funding follows a previous £1.5m round in late 2014 and will support upcoming product launches.
Lightpoint Medical develops imaging technology designed to detect and isolate cancers during surgical procedures. Its system utilises Cerenkov Luminescence Imaging to help ensure complete tumour removal while sparing healthy tissue.
Lightpoint Medical has secured £500k in funding, with significant participation from members of Envestors. The fresh capital arrives shortly after the company closed a £1.5m equity round in November 2014 led by Oxford Technology VCT.
The business is currently conducting clinical trials across breast, prostate and stomach cancer. The latest proceeds will support the commercial launch of its two lead products planned for 2015.
