Lightpoint Medical develops miniaturised cancer detection tools designed for use in robot-assisted surgery. The firm creates compact imaging systems to help surgeons identify cancerous tissue in real time.

Lightpoint Medical has secured £5.8m in a Series C financing round to support the commercial rollout of its robotic cancer detection probe. The investment saw participation from the British Business Bank Future Fund, alongside existing backers including Oxford Technology, Venture Founders, and Coutts Bank. The fresh capital will fund expanded clinical trials and early commercialisation of the company's SENSEI device.

The raise follows recent regulatory approvals for the robotic probe in Europe, the United States, and Australia. Lightpoint has already established distribution partnerships in several markets and plans to widen its international reach over the coming months as clinical studies continue across multiple cancer types.
