LeoTrace provides automated security tools that integrate directly into agentic coding environments to block vulnerabilities before code is committed.
Security firm LeoTrace has raised £1.5m in a pre-seed financing round to scale its automated code-checking technology. The capital will support independent validation, compliance groundwork, and the expansion of the engineering team.
The investment saw participation from a broad group of backers, including Aligned Syndicate, Leeds Angels, Outward, Twin Path Ventures, Golden Egg Check, Arx Ventures, and Essink Family Office. Several of the participating backers were introduced to the company via the investment platform ThatRound.
LeoTrace positions its software directly inside coding agents to intercept insecure machine-written code prior to production. The founding team aims to help enterprises maintain strict security compliance without hindering development velocity.
From the founder
"At the moment, models can’t verify themselves. So when a bank, for example, ships machine-written code into production, that’s on the model’s word that it’s safe."

Investor perspective
"LeoTrace’s team has a genuinely complementary mix of technical and sales talent, with deep sector experience in a market crying out for a solution. ThatRound made the diligence easy, surfacing exactly what I care about when screening a startup, and I was investing alongside strong co-investors including Twin Path Ventures and Outward VC."
