Leatherback raises £7.6m in pre-seed funding from Zedcrest Capital
Zedcrest Capital backed the cross-border payments platform in its first external funding round.
Leatherback provides a cross-border payments platform that enables businesses and individuals to execute international transactions. The company operates digital infrastructure designed to remove barriers to global commerce.
Leatherback has secured £7.6m in pre-seed funding from Zedcrest Capital to support its expansion across multiple international markets. The capital injection will allow the fintech firm to recruit key personnel, elevate its marketing strategy, and improve visibility.
Founded by Ibrahim Toyeeb, the company previously financed its operations independently before raising this external round. The fresh funds will also help build local capacity and strengthen infrastructure in jurisdictions including South Africa, Egypt, Uganda, India, and the UAE.
Lead backer Zedcrest Capital will provide ongoing operational and strategic guidance. The investment aims to solidify Leatherback's position as a comprehensive infrastructure provider for global mobility and payments.
