Labworks creates viral voice activated games for smart home devices including Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Gaming startup labworks has raised £500k in a funding round led by RLC Ventures, with participation from gaming and media angel investors. The capital will be used to develop a voice game subscription service for smart home devices.
Founded in 2016 and based in London, the company has built popular titles such as Would You Rather and Trivia Hero, accumulating over 5 million plays globally on Amazon and Google devices. The new monthly subscription offering aims to provide users with access to an integrated library of premium content.
Labworks leadership intends to target broader applications for voice technology, including education and accessibility markets. The investment will support the firm as it scales its operations and commercialises its new business model.
