Kymab raises £81m in a series C funding round led by ORI Fund to advance its antibody pipeline.

Kymab is a biopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge that develops human monoclonal antibody therapeutics to treat diseases such as HIV and malaria.
Cambridge-based biopharmaceutical firm Kymab has secured £81m in a series C funding round led by new backer ORI Fund. The financing also saw participation from Hepalink, business angels, and existing shareholders including Wellcome Trust, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Malin Corporation, CF Woodford Equity Income Fund, and Woodford Patient Capital.
The capital will be used to advance the company proprietary pipeline of first-in-class therapeutic human monoclonal antibodies. The first of these treatments is scheduled to begin clinical development in 2017.
This latest raise follows previous series A and B financings totalling $120m, supporting the firm continued drug discovery and development efforts.
