Kortext operates a digital teaching and learning platform that delivers textbooks and course materials to university students. The company partners with major publishers and institutions to support remote and blended learning.

Digital learning platform Kortext has secured £9m in a Series A funding round led by dmg Ventures. The financing also saw participation from QVentures and several private backers, including a family office.

The capital will support the company as it responds to increased demand for blended online and in-person education across global universities. Kortext works with over one hundred institutions in the UK, including the majority of Russell Group universities.

Executives noted that the syndicate brought a diverse pool of capital and strategic value. The business has experienced rapid growth following the pandemic shift toward digital campus environments.

From the founder

"QVentures gave us access to a much broader range of capital than we would have been able to draw from without their support. This enabled us to raise more capital, quicker, from an investor base that is able to bring a more diverse source of value. We found the level of service and support they offered to be exemplary allowing us to maintain focus on our business."
