Kord secures £6.4m in Series A funding led by Guinness Ventures to unify identity checks and payments
The funding round was led by Guinness Ventures with backing from Beringea, SFC Capital, and angel investors, and will be used for sales, marketing, and team expansion.
Kord provides an identity verification and client money management platform tailored for law firms and estate agents.
UK fintech Kord has secured £6.4m in Series A funding led by Guinness Ventures, alongside participation from Beringea, SFC Capital, and angel investors. The investment follows a period of rapid growth that saw the company increase its revenue almost sevenfold in a single year.
The capital will be allocated towards expanding sales and marketing efforts, advancing technology development, and making senior appointments, including a chief financial officer and a chief marketing officer. Kord integrates identity verification, compliance checks, and payment processing into a single platform designed to streamline client onboarding for regulated sectors such as law firms and estate agencies.
From the founder
"It’s not great being the person doing the onboarding, but equally not great being the person going through the onboarding"

Founder at Kord
Investor perspective
"Every high-value transaction depends on trust, yet the systems underpinning many regulated industries remain fragmented, manual and increasingly vulnerable to sophisticated fraud. Kord has built the infrastructure layer that modern businesses need: combining identity verification, compliance and payments into a single platform that dramatically improves both security and efficiency"
