Komodo Energy has secured £340k in a pre seed funding round to support its software development for heat electrification and grid management. The investment was backed by SFC Capital alongside other investors including Ed Stevens, Ian Marchant, and Neil Williams.

The Cambridge based firm is collaborating with heat pump, hot water tank, and smart controller manufacturers to build its technology. The funding will aid the team as they develop their solution for energy flexibility markets.

Early backers of the company bring experience in the energy flexibility sector, having previously supported businesses such as Electron, Piclo, and Ev Energy.
